
Dr. Ryan Fogt is an Associate Professor and director of the Scalia Laboratory for Atmospheric Analysis at Ohio University. He earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences in 2007 from the Ohio State University, and completed a 2-year postdoctoral research appointment at the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado. He started at Ohio University in 2009, and has advised several undergraduate and graduate students as part of his research team. His research specializes in the mechanisms of large-scale climate variability affecting Antarctica over the last century using climate models, reanalyses, and observations. At Ohio University, he teaches in multiple areas of the meteorology curriculum, from the introductory meteorology class to the sequence on atmospheric dynamics. His teaching efforts have been recognized by winning multiple College and University-level teaching awards at Ohio University.
